What do light and the material of the surroundings have to do with each other? Quite a lot. We can only perceive light when it is reflected by a surface. Therefore, in addition to the positioning of the luminaires, it is just as important which surface is illuminated. Smooth surfaces reflect the light directly, while structured surfaces reflect it more diffusely.
